Heru (Horus in Greek) is the ancient Kemetic (Egyptian) deity of kingship manifest in the sun (the most powerful force in nature) and a symbol of protection. He is often depicted as a falcon-headed man wearing a red and white crown, called the pschent, which symbolizes divine kingship over Egypt.
