Botanical description
Banara vanderbiltii, a rare species of plant in the willow family, is a small evergreen tree reaching about 30 feet tall with a stem diameter of 5 inches. It has simple, alternating leaves that start soft and become rougher with age, featuring prominent veins. Young branches and stems are covered in fine yellow hairs. The tree produces deep red to purple berries with many seeds. Its yellow flowers are round, velvety, and contain both male and female parts, allowing for self-pollination.
Cultural Note
Spiritually, Palo Ramon is typically used in silencing and binding works. Practitioners use it in spells to preventing enemies from gossiping or speaking ill of them.
This stick is also commonly used in works to help wield àṣẹ and use it to control and manipulate energy.
